Dr. Brookins holds a joint appointment in Psychology and Africana Studies and is the former Director of Africana Studies and the Africa Project at North Carolina State University. His research focuses primarily on Community Psychology (broadly) and more specifically on interventions designed to promote psychological health and development for youth and adults; sustainable community development models; and community-university partnerships that privilege community needs.
